  • WHO was the silly lit agent who failed to find the story "engaging"? This book deserves all its success.

  • I read The Help in the spring of 2009...it brought back so many memories of the wonderful women who helped mold my life. It especially reminded me of Louise, who had a degree in home economics, yet she was taking care of me and my brother (my sister wasn't born yet). I cry for that injustice...but I was so lucky to have the love they shared!!!!

  • I just finish read this book. I am from the south and just old enough to have been born during that time. As I read I thought of my grandmother who was "the help " in a home such as these. I wonder how many times she heard and had to deal with such things. I have to admit I got angry several times while reading the book. I wonder if I could have been strong as these women in the story.
